Put-Put

We are off to Montana for the weekend. We'll be home Sunday or Monday so we'll post all our fun new pictures then.

For now, enjoy these pictures of Dayton and Kent on the tractor. (Grandma taught him to call it the Put-Put)

Zoo Boise

The zoo is cool! We had such a great time. Picnic lunch, giraffe slide, merry-go-round, tunnel through the prairie dog habitat. Man it was great. Mom carried Maggie in the baby carrier all day and she just slept through the whole thing. Anyway, you've all been to the zoo, you know what it's all about. Enjoy the pictures.

I've really missed updating this blog every night. For those of you who don't know why I have been absent, it's because we've been moving. That's right, we are finally residing in Kent and Sue's house. Not all our stuff is here yet (not even close) but we have enough to live. In fact, I really don't even want to go get the rest. It is amazing how it is out of sight and I don't miss it! In fact, I would be hard pressed to even list what it is that is still up at the other house. I guess I don't need it. I am going to try to send and awful lot of it to the DI. It is so wonderful to live in a clutter-free house. I feel good!

I am just too tired tonight to do too much of this. Good night!

Early Birthday

We celebrated Sarah's birthday early today. Nama Jane sat with Dayton and Maggie while Chance and I took Sarah to the mall. She loves the mall, especially the Disney store! So we let her pick out anything she wanted. She choose an Ariel doll. Weird because she doesn't ever watch The Little Mermaid. But she loves it. She also picked out a Lightning McQueen car for Dayton and we got a Heffalump for Maggie. It was so much fun and Sarah seemed to really enjoy the one on one attention. I was telling my mom that as soon as we were alone with Sarah, she was a different girl and she should have been an only child. But Chance pointed out that she also told us she was sad sitting in her car seat without Dayton beside her. I think those two are going to be really close.

Also, Davis came home today. Hooray. After we picked him up we stopped at Paul's real quick for root beer and chocolate milk to go with the pizza that Aunt Maggie and Presley brought over! How fun to have them come spend the evening with us. We all had a super nice time. They brought Sarah a present that was a big hit. An outfit that I love and lots of Ariel accessories that Sarah didn't take off all evening. Way to go Aunt Maggie. Oh, and Nama Jane also gave Sarah lots of clothes for her birthday present. In particular a giraffe print outfit from Gymboree. Sarah loves giraffes!

Well, my husband is home now and I missed him today so I think I'll go cuddle up next to him on the couch. See you all Monday. Have a happy weekend!

I love Thursdays...

...because it is Chance's day off. Sometimes he just has a ton of stuff to do and it seems like we don't get to spend any time with him. I am a bit of a creep when this happens. I know it's not his fault but I get kind of grumpy with him. I'm not a very good person. But today, we spent almost the whole day together!

First we went to the pediatrician for Maggie's 2 month check up and shots. She is in great health, weighed in a about 10lbs. Chance took her back for the check up while I stayed in the waiting room with Dayton. I think it is good for him. And he's never had the opportunity before because of the hours he worked at Carpetime. He said she cried most of the time, especially for the immunizations. But he mostly kept the bottle in her mouth and that helped.

Dr. Brus also took a quick look at Sarah. She is about 90% but yesterday I noticed some really weird rings on her tongue. It looks like ringworm! Dr. Brus said it was most likely from the virus that she had but if it doesn't fade in a week or two we should bring her back in to see if it's some kind of fungus or something. Gross! He also said she is still a bit dehydrated so to keep pushing the fluids. She's still not eating much either but fluids are more important.

Then we went out to lunch at the best sandwich place ever! Did you know that sandwiches are one of my favorite foods? Yep. Then home for a nap. Everyone (even Chance) fell right to sleep while I crocheted for about an hour. Then I crashed too. How nice. And kind of fun to wake up to all that snow. I love snow.

I guess that's about it for today. Tomorrow should be a really fun post. Chance and I have a surprise up our sleeve for Sarah's birthday. Be sure to check it out.

I need help

Well obviously I need help! The thing I need help with today is keeping a kid in bed. Whenever I tuck Dayton in (nap or at night) he pretty much always gets up. He doesn't come upstairs though. He just goes and bugs Sarah or gets toys out of the toybox and plays. Once he finally goes to sleep at naptime, he sleeps really good - 2 hours or more. But then at night he is sometimes awake till like 10:30, so I think his nap is starting too late.

So how do I get him to stay in bed? And should I wake him up by say 3:00 no matter when his nap finally started so that maybe he'll fall asleep sooner at night? What do you think?

We finally got out of the house for a little while today. Went to Main Street and visited with Mom, Dad and Matt. It was nice to see them. Dayton has a funny new phrase that he is saying a lot: Damn it! I tried and tried to get him to say it and he would not. Just giggled a lot. Sarah used to say that too; I wonder where they're learning it?

For those of you who have fun placing bets on when I will get pregnant next, you should know that I went to the doctor today and invested a pretty penny on long term contraception. So if you haven't placed your bets yet, you may want to consider that information.

Thanks Mom for babysitting for me today. I could hear Maggie crying out in the waiting room. I hope it wasn't too awful. I love you all and love to hear your comments. See you tomorrow.

Happy Monday?

Today was such a Monday. Sarah is still sick. Or Sarah is sick again, I'm not sure which. She had a stomach bug all day today. I've never seen a kid puke so much. If she doesn't get well soon, I'm going to go crazy. I can't get anything done and I can't leave the house and the poor little pumpkin is just miserable.

Moving is going very slow. Chance is about half done with the painting and so far it looks awesome! I am so glad I went with red for the kitchen it's going to look so good. Now I can't wait to see the yellow. My craft room is about half moved and about half of all our books are in the new house and that's all that's done so far. We are going to schedule movers for a week from Thursday so that's good because it sort of gives us a deadline to meet. Also, the carpet was installed downstairs on Monday and I love, love, love it! How fun.

I am really excited about Sarah's birthday. She'll be five on Sunday. If she's feeling better, Chance and I are going to take her out to breakfast Friday morning and then to the mall to pick out anything she wants at the Disney store. It should be really fun, I am totally into it.

I guess that's about it for today. Sorry there are no pictures from the weekend. I'm still trying to get into the habit of taking more photos. I find it hard to find interesting things to photograph. Are we that boring?

Naked, sick kids

Just a few cute pictures from yesterday. Sarah has had a fever for a week and wants to be naked all the time. Dayton just wants to do whatever Sarah does. I don't mind; they're so cute naked!

They do look sort of pathetic in these photos though don't they? Poor babies, I hope everyone gets well real soon. Seriously, I think everyone I know has been sick. Everyone!

Dirty dishes, clean dishes

I have been washing dishes by hand now for well over a year and it really hasn't bothered me too much. (Chance might tell it a little different.) But in a few weeks, we'll be moved to the other house and I will have a dishwasher. The thought of this makes me absolutely giddy! There is no denying though, there is no satisfaction like looking at a drainer of gleaming, wet dishes and a sparkling sink!

I hope to never wash dishes by hand again. That is why I took these photos. So I wouldn't forget.

Marathon Maggie

I just got an e-mail from my "too cool for school" sister. She started her own blog to keep track of her marathon training! I am such an inspiration! I'll accept that as her apology for teasing me.

So I was able to load my photo from yesterday just fine. Go figure. It is a shot of my kids playing together. I made Davis hold the baby just to get them all four together. Davis went to Google Earth yesterday and plotted out a route for his trip around the world. This is him sitting at the kitchen table figuring out the mileage. What a kid. Dayton and Sarah follow him around all the time just wanting to be included in his play. What sweet brothers and sisters.

I hope they get along better than Matt and Maggie and I did. I remember us bickering and fighting an awful lot. I know Maggie agrees with me, especially about her and Matt. I was the oldest and they were closer in age to each other. I wonder how Matt feels about it. I don't recall ever asking him about it.

Chance started painting tonight and is at the other house now. He would rather do anything in the world rather than paint so I appreciate his work just that much more. In fact, if he is down there painting my house right now, I should probably be doing the dinner dishes. Especially since he also cooked. See you all tomorrow.

No new pictures

I had really wanted to post a photo everyday that had actually been taken that day but I've hit a snag. Something is wrong with my computer and it won't read the little memory card thing from my camera. Crap. So I guess I need to call Dell and get it figured out. I'll try for tomorrow during naptime.

If you haven't checked out any of the links to other blogs and such that I've listed, you might want to check a few of them out. I love them! They are so inspiring and just plain cool.

Maggie is crying and I can't keep getting up every two minutes to put the binky in her mouth. I better go rock her for a bit. Be good and I'll catch up more tomorrow. Enjoy the old photo, those teeth are why we called him Sponge Bob for so long.

Maggie better get on board!

So I told my sister Maggie (yes, the baby is named for her) about my blog and how excited I was. I wanted her to write down the address so she could check it out but she was too busy and asked me to e-mail it to her. Too busy!? And then she made fun of me!

Now I love my sister very much and I know she's just yankin' my chain but...this girl recently decided to a run a freakin' marathon and she needed those close to her to be really supportive. I have been like a hyper-active cheerleader on a sugar high. I am the best damn cheerleader she's ever gonna find.

My point is, she better get excited about my cool blog real quick.

Thinking About Returning to Blogging and an Update

Hi. Hello. Anyone out there? I'm thinking about returning to the blog to share what's happening in my life. And with my kids. And ...
