The best part of my day

The best thing that happened today was Chance came home from Utah. I love that we have been married almost 7 years and still can't stand to spend a night away from each other. We never get tired of each other. Even when we worked together we always wanted to be together.

Maggie smiled a lot today. Of course she also fussed a lot. Babies...so much fun. She seems the last few days to be out of sync. Falling out of one set of short lived habits into another. I find babies kind of hard. I like to know what to expect from my kids. When nap will be, what they'll eat, what kinds of things they'll want to do during the day. Babies are totally unpredictable. That Maggie is sure sweet though. I am grateful for her.

Dayton is alternately hilarious and then a total pill. When I got out of the shower today I shut him out of the bathroom but he kept tapping at the door so I stuck my toes under the door and when he touched them I screamed and pulled them away. He screamed with laughter and said, "Again! Again!" Which is the cutest thing he says in that toddler way of his. So this went on for a few minutes and then I snuck through the bedroom and behind him in the hall and made my monster roar. He screamed and laughed so hard - he loves being scared.

My sweet Sarah Jane was so sick still today. I hate when my kids are sick, it just breaks my heart. She was just so feverish and pathetic. She sure deals with it well though. Not much whining and she gets distracted from her misery pretty easily. Hopefully tomorrow will see her feeling lots better.

Davis never fails to amaze me with his positive, happy attitude. I can ask him to do anything, take the trash out, babysit Maggie, laundry, anything and he says, "Sure, Mom." What a blessing to have such a nice outlook all the time. Hopefully, certain little sisters of his will follow his example someday.

I'm thinking about some changes I want to make. You might call them resolutions but I don't want to so I'll think of something else. But I was thinking that this might be a good place to write them down and track my progress. I'm still brainstorming how I want that to go.
